The African arbitration community proudly celebrates the recognition of Amb. Mispa FRI AWASUM, FCIArb (UK) as a Diplomatic Change Ambassador for Peace and Humanity (CAPH) by the Youth Education and Leadership Initiative (YELI International) and the Change Ambassadors Network (CAN). The honour acknowledges her outstanding contributions to peacebuilding, ethical leadership, dispute resolution, and sustainable development across Africa.

A PhD Candidate in International Trade and Investment Law, international arbitrator, mediator, governance expert, Founder & Managing Director AGC Group and Manager of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Rwanda Branch, Amb. Mispa has dedicated more than 15 years to strengthening access to justice, promoting alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and advancing cross-border legal cooperation. Her work spans arbitration, mediation, investment advisory, ESG, governance, and capacity building, while championing youth leadership and women's participation in dispute resolution.

Receiving the award, Amb. Mispa described the recognition as "a tribute to the collective efforts of individuals and communities working tirelessly for peace, justice, education, humanitarian service, and human dignity." She reaffirmed her commitment to promoting peaceful dispute resolution, ethical leadership, gender inclusion, humanitarian action, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

This prestigious recognition highlights the growing role of African arbitration professionals beyond dispute resolution—as leaders shaping peace, governance, and sustainable development. Through her leadership at CIArb Rwanda Branch and AWASUM Global Consulting Group, Amb. Mispa continues to demonstrate that arbitration is not only a mechanism for resolving disputes but also a catalyst for fostering dialogue, strengthening institutions, and building resilient societies.

The African Arbitration Newsletter congratulates Amb. Mispa FRI AWASUM on this well-deserved honour and celebrates her continued contribution to advancing peace, justice, and the rule of law across Africa and beyond.
